Why should I choose FlashFix?
At FlashFix, we aim to make phone, tablet, laptop and computer repairs simple, transparent and reliable.
We will inspect your device, explain the likely fault in clear language and confirm the available repair options before carrying out additional chargeable work. Our goal is to provide honest advice, professional workmanship and friendly customer service.
Are you an authorised repair centre?
No. FlashFix is an independent repair service provider.
We are not an authorised repair centre, agent or representative of Apple, Samsung, Google, Microsoft or any other manufacturer or company.
Using an independent repair provider may affect your manufacturer’s warranty, insurance, trade-in value or eligibility for future manufacturer support.
Is there an upfront technician service charge?
Yes. The following technician service charge must be paid when your device is booked in:
Mobile phone: £20
Tablet: £35
Laptop or computer: £35
This charge covers technician time for inspection, diagnosis, testing, opening, disassembly and reassembly.
Once technician work has started, the service charge becomes non-refundable.
When is the service charge retained?
The applicable service charge will be retained where:
You cancel after technician work has started;
You decide not to continue after receiving the diagnosis;
A replacement part is tested but does not resolve the fault;
The device has a hidden, pre-existing or motherboard-related fault; or
The requested repair cannot be completed because of the device’s existing condition.
Where you have paid more than the service charge, any refundable remaining balance will be returned.
The service charge will not normally be retained where no technician work has started, unless an approved special-order part or another authorised cost has already been incurred.
What happens if a replacement screen does not fix my device?
A damaged screen may not be the only fault. The device may also have damage affecting the motherboard, display connector, power circuit, storage system or another internal component.
If a replacement screen is tested but does not restore the device, the screen will normally be removed where reasonably possible. Any refundable repair payment will be returned, but the applicable technician service charge will be retained for the work already completed.
How long does a repair take?
Many common phone repairs may be completed in approximately 30–45 minutes, depending on the device model, repair type, parts availability and technician workload.
Tablet, laptop, computer, software and complex diagnostic repairs may take longer.
All turnaround times are estimates unless a completion time is specifically guaranteed in writing.
Do I need to book an appointment?
Walk-in customers are welcome and do not need an appointment.
Booking online can help us understand the repair required and prepare for your visit. However, an online booking does not guarantee that the required part is already in stock.
Contacting us before travelling is recommended for less common devices or specialist repairs.
Does an online booking mean the part is in stock?
Not always.
An online booking tells us which device and repair you require, but it does not guarantee that the part is available in the shop.
If the part is unavailable, we may need to order it. Back-order parts often arrive on the next working day, but delivery may take longer depending on supplier availability.
We will provide an updated estimated repair time where a part needs to be ordered.
Why might my repair take longer than expected?
A repair may take longer because of:
Hidden or additional faults;
Parts availability;
Supplier or delivery delays;
Liquid damage or corrosion;
Software or operating-system problems;
Complex diagnostic work; or
Waiting for your approval before continuing.
We will make reasonable efforts to keep you informed about significant delays.
What should I do before handing over my device?
You should back up all important information where possible, including photographs, videos, contacts, messages, documents and other personal or business files.
You should also remove any accessories, SIM cards or memory cards that are not required for the repair.
Providing your PIN or passcode is optional. However, without access, we may be unable to fully test the repaired functions.
Will my data be safe?
We take customer privacy seriously.
Our technicians will only access the functions reasonably necessary to diagnose, repair and test your device. We will not intentionally access personal photographs, messages, emails, banking applications, social-media accounts or unrelated private information.
However, data preservation cannot be guaranteed where a device already has software, storage, motherboard or operating-system problems. Customers remain responsible for backing up important information before repair.
Will you reset or restore my device?
We do not normally erase, reset or restore a device during a standard hardware repair.
However, an existing software fault, driver problem, operating-system error or storage failure may make a reset, update or restoration necessary.
Where possible, we will pause the repair and contact you for approval before completing a process that may erase data. Waiting for your response may extend the repair time.
Do you provide data recovery?
Data recovery is not included in a standard repair.
Where data recovery may be possible, it must be separately assessed, quoted and approved. Successful recovery cannot be guaranteed, particularly where the storage component or motherboard is severely damaged.
What does “Dead on Arrival” mean?
A device may be recorded as Dead on Arrival, or DOA, where it:
Does not power on;
Has no display;
Does not charge;
Is stuck in a boot loop or recovery mode;
Cannot be unlocked or accessed; or
Cannot complete normal pre-repair testing.
When a device is DOA or untestable, we cannot confirm which functions or components were working before the repair.
Can you guarantee the condition of a DOA device?
No. A full pre-repair test is impossible when a device does not power on, has no display or cannot be accessed.
Restoring power or replacing one damaged component may reveal other hidden or pre-existing faults affecting the cameras, speakers, charging system, battery, network functions, sensors, security features, storage, motherboard or other components.
An additional fault becoming visible after repair does not automatically mean that the repair caused it.
What are hidden or pre-existing faults?
A damaged device may contain internal faults that cannot be identified during the initial inspection.
These may be caused by:
Physical impact or pressure;
A bent or damaged frame;
Liquid exposure or corrosion;
Battery swelling;
Previous repair attempts;
Missing screws, shields or components;
Damaged cables or connectors;
Motherboard failure;
Storage failure; or
Poor-quality previous parts or adhesive.
Some faults may only become apparent after the device has been opened, repaired, reassembled or powered on.
Will you contact me if another fault is discovered?
Yes. If additional chargeable work is required, we will normally contact you with an updated quotation before proceeding.
You may accept or decline the additional work. If you decide not to continue after technician work has started, the applicable service charge and any other previously approved costs will remain payable.
Do I need to provide my PIN or passcode?
Providing your PIN, password or passcode is optional.
However, access may be required to test functions such as:
Touchscreen response;
Cameras;
Speakers and microphones;
Charging;
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth;
Mobile-network functions;
Fingerprint or facial recognition; and
Proximity and other sensors.
Where access is provided, it will only be used for diagnosis, repair and functional testing.
How do you protect my personal information?
We collect only the information reasonably necessary to manage your booking, contact you, process payment and provide warranty or aftercare support.
We use RepairDesk as our repair-management and point-of-sale platform. Customer details, device information, repair records, invoices and digital signatures may be securely stored and processed through RepairDesk on behalf of FlashFix.
We do not sell customer information or share it with other businesses for their own marketing purposes.
Further information is available in our Privacy Policy:

Do you use original parts?
FlashFix is not an authorised manufacturer repair centre, and we do not automatically claim that the parts we use are manufacturer-original.
Depending on the device, availability and repair option selected, we may offer:
Aftermarket-compatible parts;
OEM-quality parts;
Premium-compatible parts;
Standard-compatible parts;
Refurbished-original parts; or
Genuine manufacturer parts where specifically confirmed.
A part will only be described as genuine or manufacturer-original where this is clearly stated on the repair ticket or invoice.
What is the difference between OEM-quality, premium and standard parts?
OEM-quality parts are high-quality replacement parts selected to provide a close fit and suitable performance. The term does not necessarily mean that the part was made, supplied or approved by the original device manufacturer.
Premium-compatible parts offer a good balance between quality and price.
Standard-compatible parts are a more budget-friendly option for customers who mainly want to restore the device’s basic functionality at a lower cost.
Our team will explain the available options, prices and warranty periods before the repair.
Will my device show a replacement-part warning?
Some devices may display a screen, battery, camera or replacement-part notification after a component has been changed.
Depending on the device model and selected part, certain features may also be affected, including:
Battery-health information;
True Tone;
Automatic brightness;
Fingerprint recognition;
Face recognition;
Screen calibration; or
Manufacturer repair-history information.
A manufacturer-generated notification does not automatically mean that the replacement part is defective.
What warranty do you offer?
The warranty period depends on the repair and replacement-part option selected:
Standard-compatible parts: 30-day warranty
Premium-compatible parts: 90-day warranty
Selected OEM-quality or high-quality parts: Lifetime Warranty, where specifically stated
The applicable warranty period will be confirmed on your repair ticket or invoice.
A Lifetime Warranty applies only to the original customer for as long as they own the repaired device and remains subject to our warranty exclusions.
What does the repair warranty cover?
The warranty covers:
The replacement part supplied by FlashFix; and
Workmanship directly connected with the agreed repair.
The warranty applies to our repair only. It does not automatically cover the entire device, unrelated components, untested functions or pre-existing faults.
The device must be returned to FlashFix for inspection before a warranty claim can be approved.
What is not covered by the warranty?
The warranty does not cover:
Devices with pre-existing body, housing, chassis or frame damage. These devices are not eligible for our standard repair warranty unless a warranty is specifically confirmed in writing on the repair ticket. Existing structural damage can place pressure on replacement parts and may affect their fit, performance or durability;
Liquid or moisture damage;
Physical, accidental or impact damage;
Cracks, dents, scratches or cosmetic damage;
Pressure marks, display lines or black spots caused by damage;
Misuse, neglect or improper handling;
Bent or damaged frames;
Pre-existing, hidden or unrelated faults;
Software, account or data-related problems;
Normal battery deterioration;
Repairs or modifications completed by another repair provider; or
New damage occurring after the device has been collected.
What if my device already has body, housing or frame damage?
If your device has pre-existing body, housing, chassis or frame damage, it is not eligible for our standard repair warranty after the repair, unless a warranty is specifically confirmed in writing on your repair ticket.
Structural damage can place pressure on replacement parts and may affect their fit, performance or durability. This exclusion does not affect your statutory rights where our repair service has not been performed with reasonable care and skill.
Does the warranty cover a DOA device completely?
No.
Where a device cannot be tested before repair, the warranty applies only to the agreed repair, the replacement part installed by FlashFix and the related workmanship.
It does not automatically cover the entire device or any functions and components that could not be tested before the repair.
Will repairing my device affect the manufacturer’s warranty?
It may.
As with most independent repair providers, a third-party repair may affect the manufacturer’s warranty, insurance coverage, trade-in value or eligibility for future authorised support.
Customers whose devices remain under a manufacturer’s warranty should check the manufacturer’s terms before authorising an independent repair.
I only have a small screen crack. Should I repair it?
It is advisable to have a cracked screen inspected as soon as possible.
Even a small crack may spread, affect touch response, expose sharp glass or allow dust and moisture to enter the device.
In most modern devices, the glass, touchscreen and display form part of one screen assembly, so a complete screen replacement may be required even where the crack is small.
How much does a screen repair cost?
Screen repair prices depend on:
The device brand and model;
The screen technology;
The quality of the replacement part;
The availability of the part; and
The complexity of the repair.
Curved, OLED, premium and foldable screens usually cost more than standard flat displays.
We will confirm the repair price before starting the work.
Do you repair phones and tablets?
Yes. We repair many popular phone and tablet models, including Apple, Samsung, Google and other brands.
Common services include:
Screen replacement;
Battery replacement;
Charging-port repairs;
Camera, speaker and microphone faults;
Button and sensor issues;
Software problems; and
General diagnostics.
Repair availability depends on the model, fault and parts availability.
Do you repair laptops and computers?
Yes. We repair laptops, MacBooks and computers.
We can help with:
Charging and battery problems;
Slow performance;
Software and operating-system issues;
Screen and keyboard problems;
Overheating;
Storage upgrades;
Hardware faults; and
General diagnostics.
Some laptop and computer repairs require inspection before the exact fault and price can be confirmed.
Do you repair liquid-damaged devices?
We can inspect liquid-damaged devices, but successful repair cannot be guaranteed.
Liquid may affect several components and corrosion may continue developing after the original exposure. We will inspect the device and explain the likely repair options and costs.
Liquid damage is not covered by our standard repair warranty.
Will my device remain water-resistant after repair?
We cannot guarantee that a device will remain waterproof or water-resistant after it has been opened.
Replacement adhesive or seals may be applied where appropriate, but the manufacturer’s original IP rating cannot be guaranteed or officially restored by FlashFix.
Repaired devices should be kept away from water, steam, rain and excessive moisture.
Can I cancel my repair?
You may cancel before technician work begins and receive the applicable refund, provided that no approved special-order or other authorised costs have already been incurred.
If you cancel after technician work has started, the applicable upfront technician service charge will be retained.
Special-order parts or other costs previously authorised by you may also remain payable.
What happens if my device cannot be repaired?
We will explain the diagnosis and any available options.
Where the requested repair cannot be completed or does not resolve the fault, any refundable balance will be returned after deducting:
The applicable technician service charge;
Any authorised special-order part costs; and
Other reasonable costs previously approved by you.
We cannot guarantee that every damaged, liquid-damaged or DOA device can be successfully repaired.
Do you sell accessories?
Yes. We sell a range of accessories for phones, tablets, laptops and computers, including:
Phone cases;
Chargers and cables;
Screen protectors;
Keyboards;
Mice; and
Other everyday technology accessories.
Product availability may vary.
Do you provide support after repair?
Yes. Please contact us or visit the shop if you experience an issue after your repair.
We may need to inspect the device before confirming whether the issue is connected with our repair and covered under the applicable warranty.
Please bring your repair ticket or invoice where possible.
